Amy Shedrick has been lifting since 2000 and has only recently, with in the last couple years started to prepare and compete for competition. She now competes in highland games, strongwomen and powerlifting- with focus on powerlifting. March 31 2007 she did her first full raw powerlifting competition in a dual sanctioned event with AAU and 100% Raw.
She broke three national records for the 148-lb lifetime open in the AAU with a fourth attempt squat of 198 pounds a deadlift of 319 and a total of 595.2 pounds. She also has the 100% Raw deadlift world record with 319 lb. This was Amy's first full powerlifting competition and she continues to get stronger. She is completely drug and supplement free.
She is the women's champion of the strongwomen event that is held during the Harpoon Brewery Barbecue Championships in Windsor, VT for two years running. This year she started competing in Highland games. She has been putting a lot of time and effort into her training, because she wants to be the best women powerlifter. She wants to represent the drug free women powerlifters and show that it can be done with out drugs. She plans to continue increasing her strength and can only get stronger.
